There is the obvious discovery of what the book is about; an ancient practice kept hidden for 2,000 plus years that is so timely appropriate for modern times. And there is so much more; probably even more important to the author himself and to us that we can all relate to.
As the story unfolds he begins to discover more of himself...a Self that is beyond the lower ego's self-doubt, low self esteem, fear and worry that is so debilitating. He has had no problem dwelling on how his life simply sucks at the moment. Replaying the same old negative tunes that have played off and on in the background and at times blatantly so, for a good deal of his life.
He discovers a new tune, one that is uplifting to his whole being -- that brings him up and out of the muck to see more clearly -- to make more effective and efficient decisions followed by actions: even when one of the old tunes begins to play again. He discovers that he has a choice in each moment as to what tune he wold rather listen to --and that he is in charge of the dial to actually play it. (In reality always has been.)
The obvious discovery first talked about in this post, is then a practice of playing by choice specific tunes at any time that are based on the uplifting emotions of Praise, Gratitude, Love and Compassion. The benefits are unlimited for living a life of conscious purpose for his greater good and the good of others.
